Mary Ann Halpin dances while she shoots. " I love to photograph the spirit of people and bring the best out of them... their fun, their liveliness. That makes me want to dance." Although best known for her celebrity portraits, albums and CD covers, Halpin has received acclaim for revealing everything from the glamorous beauty of Hollywood and the exquisite glow of pregnancy to the heartbreaking despair of Skid Row.

As a natural expression of her commitment to see beyond stereotypes, Halpin reveals the many faces of homelessness which grace Los Angeles Mission billboards throughout the
L.A. area. Impressed by her vision, the Celebrity Action Council of the Los Angeles Mission asked Halpin to join their ranks. In partnership with actress Linda Gray, she codirectred a short documentary film about women who are reclaiming their lives in the Mission's rehabilitation program.

As author of Pregnant Goddesshood: A Celebration of Life, Mary Ann Halpin garnered national attention for her book's powerful, beautiful images of pregnant women accompanied by personal essays. Images from Pregnant Goddesshood have been featured in many national television shows and magazines including a feature in LIFE Magazine.

Mary Ann Halpin is a master photographer and a recognized expert on the power of the image. A sought after speaker and seminar leader, Mary Ann leads creative and spiritual renewal retreats for women in
Pine Mountain, California. She can regularly be seen offering her perspective on the many diverse images of women on shows such as Extra!, Inside Edition and The View.

Mary Ann was recently selected to feature her photography in an international touring gallery show called "The World is Round 2000". The exhibit will open June 14 at the Photo Expo West.

As a writer, Mary Ann's short story, "Birth of a Book", is featured in Ariel Ford's "More Hot Chocolate for the Mystical Soul". She is also featured in Paul and Sarah Edwards book, The Practical Dreamers Handbook, www.thesimplegoodlife.com.
